Black women’s Media Project http://www.healththroughart.org/Site/BWMP_Retreat_Photos.html The “Be Still” Meditation retreats take place every 3-4 months at Merritt College in the beautiful Oakland hills. The purpose of these retreats is to “Take Care” of those who are always taking care of everyone but themselves and who have learned to live with the detrimental impact of alcohol-related problems on themselves and their families. They also aim to draw connections between stress-reduction/relaxation and good health. The retreats combine workshops, demonstrations, massage, make-overs, yoga & movement, meditation, silence, a healthy lunch and community.
